H1N1 Mall Clinics Continue Through February – Free Vaccines Available to All Community Members
Contact: Amber Fossen, Lane County Public Information, 541-682-3718
It’s tempting to put getting vaccinated against H1N1 influenza on the back burner. We get it – it’s just one more item on the “to do” list. However, Lane County Public Health asks that you take a minute to make it a priority – for your health, your family’s health, and the health of our communities. There is no better time than right now, as we normally see flu cases increase in late winter and last until May. Everyone (over 6 months of age) can get an H1N1 flu vaccine.
Not a lot of time on your hands? Well, next time you run that errand at either Valley River Center or Gateway Mall – consider adding an H1N1 shot to your shopping list.
Public Health is hosting FREE H1N1 walk-in clinics throughout February at both malls. These FREE clinics are open to all community members.

Public Health needs your help to continue “slowing the spread” of H1N1 in our communities. All community members are encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Getting vaccinated is safe and protects your health and the health of those around you who may be vulnerable to the flu.
Community members who do not have a provider that is offering the H1N1 vaccine may check on vaccine locations at www.lanecounty.org, or www.google.com/flushot or call Lane County Public Health at 541-682-4041 for an appointment.
H1N1 information is available on Lane County Public Health’s flu line at 541-682-4181 or the Oregon Public Health Flu Hotline 1-800-978-3040.
Please continue to take precautions to limit the spread of the disease by covering your coughs and sneezes; keeping hands clean by washing them or using alcohol-based sanitizer, and staying home if you are sick.
