Her lighthouse photo was taken at Bandon’s Bullards Beach State Park, while family was gathered to spread her aunt’s ashes. — in Bandon, Oregon.
“The reason I entered this photo contest (besides loving the Oregon Coast Digest page) is because, my aunt passed before her oldest son’s wedding, so she couldn’t be there–I was hoping to win so that I take my cousin & his wife for a nice dinner at the high tide cafe and they could see the photo on the wall and feel like they were having dinner with my aunt there watching over them.” -Cora Height
“My sister-in-law would have painted it if she was alive, so I believe she did paint it only from above.” -Susan Johnston
Prize: She will be awarded a $100 gift card to the High Tide Cafe. Cora Height’s lighthouse photo is officially up for display at the High Tide Cafe for the month of October! If you visit the High Tide, make sure to mention you’ve come to view Cora’s photo and you will receive either a complimentary dessert or cup of chowder with purchase of an entree. Her photo “Sunset Silhouettes”, was taken at sunset of her two children running on Whiskey Run Beach in Bandon, Oregon.
“This photo holds so many memories for us! Both of my kids (in photo) took their first steps on our Oregon beaches, had their first taste of sand and learned so much about the world around them through tide pools and the nature among these shores. It was very hard to move away from it all, just a few months ago. We sure miss the coast but are happy to still be Coasties at heart!” -Sierra Byers
Prize: She will be awarded a $50 gift card to the High Tide Cafe, as well as receive a HT sweatshirt.
Her starfish photo “Stranded”, was taken on the beach in Winchester Bay, Oregon. Jenn is a fairly recent photo contributor to the Oregon Coast Digest. We sincerely appreciate her beautiful images and love sharing her work with our fans. Keep up the good work!

Steven Michael’s image was selected after being judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, artistic merit, and expression of the theme, ‘Day at the Beach’.
“Besides being a great shot from a technical side, you have captured a couple, a family, children, recreation and the beloved family pet…great encompassing concept.” -Tom Ross (Fan)
Prize: He will be awarded some prizes provided by 7 Devils Brewing Co. and Oregon Coast Digest.
Her “Beach Storm” was taken in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, on the 2nd beach access in Winchester Bay, Oregon. Debbie is another one of our favorite contributing photographers, and someone who really has a natural ‘eye’ and ability for capturing great images of the Oregon Coast. Her image rose steadily with lots of fan votes and great comments, while only being shared 4 times. We’ve found the more an image gets shared, the greater chance it can have of getting more votes/likes, so the fact that she got so many votes ‘organically’ is certainly impressive in it’s own right. Debbie’s image is one that we felt deserved further mention as it certainly captures many elements of what a ‘day at the beach’ on the Oregon Coast can look like!
“TO be honest, I love, LOVE all the pictures. This one, however, represents the Oregon coast best to me … The space, the emptiness… the sky, the light … love it” -Hester Grove (Fan)
“Wow,that’s so Beautiful. Looks so Peaceful. Came to me at the right time. Thanks bunches for sharing. Whomever shared it,I really appreciate it.” -Marsha Coburn-Moon (Fan)
