Brookings, Oregon
We recently had the opportunity to stop in for a surprise review on Superfly Martini Bar and Grill in Brookings, Oregon. This is a fun, casual dining spot that is very popular with the locals, and for good reason. It’s located a few blocks west of highway 101 and has indoor and outdoor seating, although it’s far enough from the water that there are no real views to speak of. That aside, the interior is nicely decorated and open, and the patio dining area is in the sun most of the day and features a nice gas fire-pit, pretty potted flowers and other elements. We were pleasantly surprised by the diverse menu selections and attractive prices.
Superfly Martini Bar & Grill was very busy the day that we dropped in with the kids to explore the offerings and we were seated with just a short wait. We had heard about them from an associate and had seen their bottled spirits in area liquor stores. Superfly makes a high-quality, and gluten-free, potato vodka, and they serve quite an array of vodka martinis made with their own product. The menu is pub-style and priced very reasonably with good selections for the whole family. Although we were there for lunch, we took note of the breakfast and Sunday Brunch menus, as they featured some tasty looking options to take note of.
The kids menu items were small in number, but still solid options. Between that and the other menu choices, everyone was happy with their choices. Good burgers and fries, chicken bites, mac and cheese, etc., kept the kids happy, and the Seared Yellowfin Tuna, Caesar Salad, Steamed Obsidian Mussels, and other choices were delicious. The kitchen crew certainly has some talent.
As previously stated, the pricing is nice, and additionally, the portions are good and the preparation and presentation are great.
The ambiance inside and out is very comfortable and has a nice urban feel to it. The fire-pit outside is nice to gather around and take any cool edge off. The bar seating inside is a basic but comfortable. The restaurant dining area is bright, open and cheery.
The day that we visited, the service was very slow and they ran out of some of the food that ordered. We had to wait for nearly an hour to start to have the food come out, and during that time, our seating went from being in the sun to being in the shade, and turned very cool. The kids were famished, squirmy and cold by the time our food came and the management was very apologetic and was kind enough to comp our bill as well. Even though we had a challenging dining experience the first time through due to the busy circumstances and lack of certain food products that we ordered, the food was quite good and the staff was great. I would certainly recommend making a stop by Superfly part of your plan when visiting Brookings. Superfly Martini Bar and Grill is located on 623 Memory Lane.
